No center seat :gtfo
The old model was a world phenomenon supercar because of how ridiculous it looked and performed. The gold plated engine bay, the center driving position, the looks, the numbers (worlds fastest) it was all insane.
This is just run of the mill supercar :shifty

Well, the conservative exterior design is deliberate, that is stated in their design statement on their site, and it most definitely will not have McLaren F1’s price tag. The innovation in the MP4-12C are by no means run of the mill. The first Carbon Fiber Monocell structural chassis with a weight of only 176 lbs, the use of magnesium structural components and the first use of seamless shift gearbox directly derived from current F1.
The car only weights 2866lbs with 600 bhp, which is around 190lbs lighter than the 458 and 30 bhp more and 700 lbs lighter than the SLS with 30 bhp more.

I know what you’re getting at, and it’s still cutting edge technology, the problem is that it’s subtle. Supercars shouldn’t be any more subtle than funny car drag racers are.
It’s the same reason why you shouldn’t ever buy (sorry Cossey) a supercar in Silver, because that’s oxymoronic.
Mercedes came out with Gulwing Doors for it’s original 300SL, Koinsegbergerggering has it’s crazy dihedral synchro-helix doors, and the original F1 was an icon on teen’s bedroom walls because of how silly it was in every aspect. That’s the epitome of a supercar, is to be insane and cost insane. New generation is soft. Veyron is on the border edge or looking average.
This my friend is a real supercar,
Build while other cars looked like
There is a reason why a record breaking civic, making insane horsepower and setting track records will never be a “supercar” because character is a part of the package.

996TT’s are not super cars. Never said they were lol.
In the looks, you can see a progression from the F1. I think it looks pretty damn good, and I’m interested to see how the pricing is on the car.

I’m with Jeremy Clarkson on this one. Cars like this, the 360/430/458 Ferraris, 911 GT3, etc are the true driving supercars. The Countach, Carrera GT, F50, Murcielago, etc are all barely drivable hypercars that exist because they are so flamboyantly illogical. The Enzo was the first one of those cars that was sort of barely kinda maybe drivable by a normal person according to test drivers. Enzo/Countach/CGT/etc race cars are rare and almost always not from the factory. The real driving cars are this McLaren, F430s, 911s, 458 Italia, yadda yadda.

I was under the impression that the Carrera GT is a drivers car.
I am personally very excited about MP4-12C, not that I am planning on getting one any time soon…LOL.
