there was a twilight zone episode about a hole like this. it was actually one of the more weird ones. the would send things down on a string and when they brought it back up it would be replaced with val;uables and a note that said "our scholars have determined this to be (whatever it was) " at the end of the episode a guy finally went down in some crazy suit and when it came back up the suit was full of gold and shit and the note said “our scholars have determined this to be chicken” ---

I say we start dumping people on death row down it with a large rope and see what happens when we pull em back up. Be a good place for nuclear waste too. 15 miles deep. yeap. Also, umm didnt the Silver surfer make holes like this ?!?!?! ---
