Looks like when this first happened before the Honda-tech meet in farmington, the metal part found on my oil plug is most likely a piece of crank or rod bearing worn due to oil starvation.
If it is a crank bearing, I can simply replace the crank and get new bearings. if its a rod bearing then I might need a new rod, new bearings, and a new crank… if that is the case i’ll be picking up the other block since the specs are identical to mine (with the exception of mid sleeves rather than open deck)
So the tear down will begin tomorrow. I’ll figure out whats what and the plans for the winter.

Mid winter update:
Engine and bearings appear to be fine, not sure where the apparent bearing material came from but everything is smooth right now. After I drive it some more I’ll have to tear down and check up on it again.
I have been spending most of my time on the del sol parts car, but this means that I now have lots of spares and some new upgrades like electric locking doors and a wiring harness to fix up the mess that I keep trying to patch up.
I did pick up another “mugen style” front, new black housing one piece headlights, and I started putting my interior back to black.
I had painted the stock grey/black interior black with red accents a while ago and the “accents” have gone out of style. Since I picked up this wheel last year:
and did a similar red stitch shift boot I decided that I would do the door handles and vents in a matte black and what was originally grey in suede to match the wheel.
This gives you an idea of the OEM interior colors:

The top of the door panels were gray the color wrapped around the back of the car everything even with them and up. The A pillars, visors, and roof were all in the same gray.

process was pretty simple. The top panels were held to the bottom with one screw and a dozen plastic rivets. For the first door I drilled out the rivets and put normal screws into what was left of the bottom of the rivets to reattach them. This turned out not to be ideal since I had drilled too deep on some of them. On the second door panel I used a dremmel and just ground off the top of the rivets, this worked much better. I cleaned off the top with alcohol then sprayed it with the 3M super 90 adhesive, cut the faux suede (year its fake) to size and sprayed the back of it as well. Put the two together and pulled over the corners as tight as possible.
Turned out pretty well.
on the performance end, I am having Mike/TM do a portfolio for the car and a photo shoot in the spring hopefully to nab some tire sponsors to help my odds at beating out the rest of the FWD street class for redline time attack. My plans to upgrade to a 71R and V-band flanges are on hold since I can’t find a buyer for my GT28RS turbo setup.

dude i just got this crazy idea. what if you like changed the motor you have now for like a better motor. ya know and like didnt have a turbo on it, and like was able to drive it and stuff. thatd be sweet right?

I’m not sure if that would look right. You can see the OEM interior above… everything in suede is too much… just doing the gray in suede may be best as it would offer a bit of a two tone effect.
I just wish I could find a way to integrate more red stitching like the wheel and shift boot.

Its actually not a bad place. Bars were from way back. The shop I am renting from is slowing upgrading all the overhead doors and will be renovating the whole place eventually.
