5th gear is useless, its an overdrive gear. Anything that happens then can just be tossed out the window. If the Mustang is ahead at the max of 4th, it has won the race. This run was a win for the mustang, but anyone with a brain can assume that it would have been AT LEAST a tie had the Prelude found the right gear when it was starting to pull.
