Every news station here in Vegas is covering it right now. They’re saying 5-7 stories are on fire. I can see the smoke from outside my building. No idea how it was started yet. ---

Casino’s are required to have giant water tanks on the roofs for a situation such as this. ---

Travel time (3-5 minutes) To get the standard 3 pumpers and 2 ladders So right away, before the firemen even start pumping water OR reach the room. You have 12 minutes. Enough for the fire to double 4 times, Or be 16 times the original size. Thats how stuff like this happens. ---

i know how systems work i design them for a living i was just didnt know the fire code of nevada, my company has done all the casinos in this area as of late and we have never put a storage tank of water on the roof for fire. I was just wondering if its the lack of potable water in that area that they need a tank for it or jsut different state codes. it really doesnt make sense for dry systems to be there unless that is all state code requires, it water that big of a factor in that area?? most systems in this area are wet systems or atleast upgraded to wet fully automatic systems > [@ecoshardcore](#): > > All commercial buildings are required to have a sprinkler system.
