# Montoya misses Daytona

My dad is watching the qualifying races and I came down in time to see montoya get a flat right front. He bounced off the wall pretty good and took the hub assembly off in the process.

The duels or whatever they are calling them are on tv now so I believe he is done. It’s a shame but thats racing.

ummm how does he miss daytona? The car was in the top 35 in points last year.

Only the top 2 spots of fence sitters in the dual races make into the 500.
So there are 4 spots for them.
Then the next 3 fence sitters that didn’t make it in go to fastest qualifying.
Then the last spot is the past Champion provisional.
35 top drivers from last year + 4 from the duals + 3 from the quals + Champ provisional = 43 car field.

Its always the cars…the sponsors…the teams…the owners is based on the car.
