In your case your only shot is to find the helmet new somewhere and tell the insurance company that is what you want. You will not get more tho becuase like it has been posted, they give you a check for $400 for a helmet, you go on ebay and buy one for $200 and pocket the rest. That is against the law and they are smarter than that. If you buy a brand new BMW for $50,000 and 10 years later its stolen. They are not gonna give you $50,000 becuase thats what you paid for it. They will get you what its worth 10 years old at the time it was stolen. ---
