They definitely should have used an american made carbon monoxide detector…wait nevermind nothing is made in america anymore. they are all junk. your builder had no choice in the matter. A good idea is to have one that is battery powered or you can plug in so you can bring it near the other one and see if you get 2 readings saying the same thing. I had to do this shortly after i moved into my house when i had a detector fail.
