# Mother Nature... not a fan of New Orleans

7 years to the day from when Katrina fucked up NO looks like Isaac is going to hit them pretty much dead on.

I think mother nature is sick of your hubris in building a below sea level city. Wonder how many people will ignore the evacuation warnings this time.

It is a common misconception⌠Katrina never hit New Orleans. They just got screwed from the aftermath of it. It hit Waveland and Bay St. Louis east of NO.

Ya the defnitley got hit with their share but the serious damage was done east. A lot of the NO damage was due to the storm surge.

Building a city below sea level is right on par with building one next to a dormant volcano (like Mt. Vesuvius for instance). Should never have been built the first time or rebuilt after that. Maybe this time they will get the hint, friggin idiots.

Yeah, the new system is supposed to be good for a direct hit from a cat 3 storm, and this one is only expected to be a 1. The big question is how much rain can it withstand. What I read this morning was that the storm is slowing down and now theyâre talking about 20" of rain being possible.

Not looking good for them this morning. Isaac has pretty much stalled and theyâre saying itâs going to take 12+ hours just to go the 70 miles from New Orleans to Baton Rouge.

This isnât even that bad of a stormâŚIâm still going to Orange Beach / Gulf Shores (Alabama) on Friday.
