# motomaster synthetic gear oil

anybody using this in their transmission? it’s rated gl-4 and gl-5… don’t know how that is possible though? anyways, just wondering if anyone was using it since there is a weird almost burning smell every time i take the car out for a drive, i can faintly smell it while in the car (could smell it alot when i didnt have the rubber shift boot on), and i always smell it coming out the car. thought it was engine related at first, so i popped the hood to check, but the smell definitely seems to be originating from the transmission. any thoughts on why? one thing is for sure though, i wouldn’t recommend using this oil… i guess i’ll have to pick up some redline gl-4… damn stuff is hard to find around here though. what other oils are you guys using?
