Due to repost, I will put this here:
I am waiting to hear that it was a lone gunman, that was killed. They are saying he shot the soldier at the war memorial, and then went to parliament, where he was shot and killed. More than 98% of active shooter scenarios in the US involve a single shooter\*, so I doubt Canada differs much from those stats. Chaotic situations lead to differing reports, which lead to reports of multiple gunman. In reality, people get scared, and don’t remember what color shirt the shooter was wearing. One person says red, the other says brown, that leads to two shooters.

Sounds like Kevin Vickers will be getting some great praise from his country and it’s rightfully deserved. By the sound of the video, you can kind of hear the shots from the long rifle and then the sound of Vickers unloading from his handgun. Kind of ironic that the Sergeant-at-Arms was the one to take him down too. Give that man a medal!
Now they are saying it was just 1 gunman involved in attack.

and they’ll call it radical islam to differentiate from the non radical type.
Heart goes out to Cpl’s family. It was really moving to see this. I am an immigrant but this is my country and I abide by their rules. I may have differing opinions on morality in some laws but I fight it through my choices and elected representatives not through violent terrorism.

Watching videos I was surprised by the number of cops with ARs and what not based on the low level of crime they have.

It’s pretty standard everywhere now, even in the counties that are considered safe. It’s bad though when you see police in India and other countries that don’t have good training. I’ve seen videos of them with their guns during an active shooter situation, and they threw their rifle on the ground and ran away. That is not acceptable.

They had a guy on CTV that said he passed that car on the way into work (at parliment I think) he thought it was strange that a car would be left abandoned there, but just went around.
