i think Bing has defended his product enough.

he says QA1 makes the parts. good, it’s not a no-name company by any means.

chromoly\>aluminum of same size and thickness. yes, very obvious, but he also stated the aluminum parts are built thicker than the steel counter part. let’s not even get into the rusting issue. every car rusts. it’s how you go about trying to prevent it that counts.

he also said if you don’t want aluminum, don’t buy it. i don’t even know if i would condone using any multi-link kit on our streets. every company states “for off road use only” for a reason. OEM was designed to take twisting and bending and jarring and hence the stamped shape. in WPG we have road gaps and potholes and rippled/overlapped pavement everywhere; it’s unavoidable.

i might track aluminum, and i would try steel on the street, but i wouldn’t expect it to last longer than a stock part. then again, who expects any aftermarket part to last longer than stock? suspension especially. i always expect to pay for new shocks every 2 years, along with top mounts and other soft rubber pieces.

btw TM - we have two 996’s that were winter driven here. 😉

Unbelievable… not so much the fact people are still buying your arms, but the fact you’re still launching the personal attacks after i stopped posting 2 pages ago… nice one…

> bob, the rod ends on those Porsche links are QA1 XM series rod ends that i have in stock here that i use on all of teh multi-link.

Read my post again, I think I mentioned the fact that those links probably arent used in winters given that they are for a Porsche.

Like what can’t you get through your head about just not mentioning me and we wont have this issue? I have my own shit to worry about besides the people buying your arms… if they want to, they can go right ahead, I can’t say I care it’s their car, but I thought it to be courtesy for people to get the whole story, and not just what you’re pitching.

I’d tell anyone to do the research before buying anything and this is no exception.

Rather then continuing to discredit me and Ian, post up the numbers, and make everyone happy… I’m not talking data, I’m talking the calculations…

This thread should even be in tech, because it’s impossible to have a technical discussion with bing without insults being flung, or bing trying to discredit everyone who opposes…

That’s super lame, and that’s exactly why, these threads turn into fur balls…

Way to go Bing, way to set an example VP…

What a joke…

Find out if they’re running the multi link and I’ll stand corrected… easy as that 🙂

FC’s have aluminum suspension components.

they probably all spun out and killed mothers walking their children.

But seriously, does your mom still pack your lunch in the morning?

They’re not heim jointed, chances are they’re stamped or solid similar to the stock 240 units, or the TC rods on a 240.

Just for clarification, those stamped units, while they may be inexpensive, have much higher tensile strength and ultimately can withstand more strain after the point of plastic deformation then the parts being sold.

In essence, they may yeild at a lower point, but can withstand more plastic deformation to a higher yeild strength then the aformentioned. Basically, those parts bend, but they wont snap.

So yes, they’re actually better from that perspective, not to mention the fact that given their design corrosion has a lesser effect on them as they are structurally strong at every point because of the form. The form makes them stronger in general, not even the material. So as long as the sides of the stock arm remain in resonable shape the only flex will come from the bushing.

My mother does not pack my lunch… I eat in a shitty residence cafeteria…

‘DONT LIE’ is there a problem with using your real user name to blatently insult people?

Wtf is up with you people? You can’t let an argument go on without stickin your nose in and throwing out the same lame insults as everyone else?

Removed insults, you guys can pm me if you have any concerns with that.

Bobby you personally attacked me in the admin section… you can hide it with your buddies in there but i will MAKE you bring it in publci so that you can see established members of this club back me up

no one is backing you up except BAS

mike and andrew are facilitating this discussion that looks poorly on all of us.

i agree with your comments entirely,

i requested that i be able to remove this thread from the boards because it is irrelvent and because Ian and Bob have no experience with these products, obviously.

however, the other admin have decided that for some reason it is necessary to have this around still and as a result i am obligated to defend my character and the products i have worked veyr hard to develop.

i apologise to everyone that has to read this… i 100% support deleting it for the very reasons you do.

btw i am shipping out your items in the morning, i’ll pm you with tracking in the afternoon

Yeah I did in the admin section, because you personally attacked me and my education, and one of my family members, what did you think I was going to do? Ignore it?

I kept the personal argument in there for a reason, because it was you and me, and a bunch of moderators, it might have well be a private message conversation.

Noticed how I didn’t bring it out here? Want to know why? Because it looks poor on you and the club, and frankly I expected that you of all people would understand the furball that gets generated when personal arguments get out into these sections. You’re worried about a black mark on your reputation? So you bring our argument out here? Where everyone can see it? Makes sense… oh wait, no it doesnt.

You came out here, jumping down my throat, my name was in every post you made for 2 days straight.

I was content leaving it in the confines of the Admin section, and you brought it out here.

That shows me plenty of character. In fact all the comments you made in that section before you deleted it, I wish I copied and pasted, because it shows me exactly the kind of person you are, and it’s ugly. I’m simply not going to repeat it, because frankly, some people are a little more mature then that.

It’s cool though, all the admins saw it, I don’t need to publicly humiliate you because you’ve already done a fine job of it, but I will find out the longevity of your parts **which is all this argument was originally about** until you brought the personal aspect to it…

The argument in the admin section was basically a private argument, and you made a big mistake bringing it out here, and I’ll attribute it to severe lack of judgement, or basic self confidence issues.

Andrew and Mike are doing a fine job keeping both sides of the argument open, and this thread would be alot cleaner if the personal attacks were left out of it at the start.

Everyone knows you would love nothing more then this thread to be deleted because then the argument never existed and the information brought to question never happened.

It would wipe your hands clean… and that certainly shouldn’t be the case…

bob, you made reference to my degree… that is why i said “i am not your sister”

that comment would not be relevant had you not agressed first.

further, your comment about hoping someone gets hurt was made before that as well.

also, why argue in the first place? it was just BAS making a stink and then you went off on me because im not an engineer.

you know i would have told you all the information over msn about the products. and since we were buddy buddy up until then i would evne have given you a set to try out if you would have given it back or made suggesstions because at one point i valued your opinion

As far as I can see Bing’s stuff uses materials equivalent to or better than
the competition. His stuff is also manufactured by a professional shop who
are clearly qualified to do this type of work.

Given this, is there any reason to believe that these parts are not up to
par with other S14/14/15 multi-link components from other companies?

If you have a reason that Bing’s parts are inferior or somehow a ripoff,
which I doubt, feel free to voice that here with supporting evidence.

Otherwise, this fortune cookie from Bing’s restaraunt has a good point:

I made reference to your degree after you attacked mine and the fact I wasn’t out of school. You repeatedly mentioned that fact, as if because I wasn’t out of school it discredits my knowledge about everything. That’s exactly how you treated me and what I know. That would set off anyone who busts their ass in school.

Anyone else here not find that insulting? If you try pulling that on anyone they’d come right back at you with an even more relevant point about your degree, and its relation to what your selling.

I started to argue because BAS had a point, and noticed how I didn’t gang up with him in your **public thread** but rather kept it to private circumstances. I only brought myself into the public argument when you started attacking me in conjunction with Ian. I asked you to stop, and you continued to do it. That’s why I’m still here arguing. I mean if you’re going to bash me I might as well make my point right?

You never offered that chance, and frankly after you exploded, I don’t see why I would bother. I gave you a chance when I bought the taiwan versions of the arms. You could have offered then, and you didn’t. It’s your product, if you were concerned about my opinion then you should have asked me, but you didn’t, so do act like you gave me a chance and I turned you down.

You had every chance to ask me, and you never took it, because it didn’t matter to you at the time.

The original point, MY original point, was that he was stating things that were patently false… it was my original intention to point out that his statment were incorrect and needed to at very least be contextualized properly. From there it degraded into him expanding the issue beyond the original scope of MY statement. I’ve had SOn members come into this post to do nothing more then personally attack me… to this I attempted to take it to PM with little luck and even tried to be a straight foreward with these people as possible. It would behoove you and the other admins to maybe hop on, with much vigor. Those people who are not involved in the topic or have no actual information to add to the topic…
