Turned the motor over by hand about 10 times to make sure we had no piston to valve clearance issues, and viola! Cam timing done. So tomorrow we gotta install the timing cover, accessories, valve covers, intake and exhaust and fire the bitch up. Cant wait to hear what this cars gonna sound like!!

Yup, got everything together fri night, started it and the machine shop forgot to re-install the plugs on the back of the heads, so lost about 3qrts of oil lol. Then got that fixed today, started her up and ran nice, had a small leak from the valve cover, pulled it off and somehow the gasket got ripped in 1/2. So well get the gasket tomorrow and she should finally be done. Sounds real good idling, even with the factory h-pipe with cats and 2 resonators

Well thats good you got that figured out. Hopefully it stays running good. He’s got about the same kind of luck with that car as I do with mine.
Now we need to convince him to get a new H or X pipe.

Im pretty sure a midpipe for an SN95 4.6 is different than one for a Fox 5.0.
Id let him try it though.

Thanks anyways but i have a buddy with a catless x-pipe for $50 thats gonna go on it. Its actually pretty loud through the stock H, cant wait to hear the fucker after the X!!!

not navigate from the current conversation but did anyone read the artical in modified mustangs and fast fords for july?..err august i mean…the gt500 kr is on the cover… there is an artical in there on a built up 3 valve gt… pushing over 1000hp on a turbo setup light boost and a fogger kit… pretty impressive for a 281 ci block… oh and the gt500 show down… is in that months mag too… and some unoffical record for a 3 valve sn197 breaking into the 8sec mark pretty good read if anyone is interested. i tend to read them and tossem… so if any of you guys want some of my left overs id be happy to givem to ya… otherwise ill just recycle them.

Yeah its the metallic orange droptop with the chrome nitrous tanks mounted on the cage right?? S I C K car, made huge power. It should make over 1200rwhp with spray.

Negative, my car needs a waterpump and the tank back in, not hard just dont have alot of time/care with having 2 jobs and working on other peoples cars. Like i said before, i really dont wanna pay for all the shit to get it back on the road to drive it for only a month…
