Is the engine leak free?
Cam/ Adjuster seals are common to go.
Look for any oil seeping from the front corners of the valve covers.
You should be fine with only 40k miles, but you never know with Audi’s.

Considering the same car in excellent condition with a clean title would sell for about $17-20k, yes its a great deal.
Guessing it’s a salvage title?

well … it may be. i’ll have to see when the title comes it. thefts sometimes will come with a clean one b/c there was no real damage to the car.
and not 100% about the engine b/c i haven’t gotten into that aspect of the car. i will save that until its on the road and i can see how solid it runs. The most running i’ve had for it is some idling in the driveway and that seemed pretty smooth.

started playing with the interior today.
needed to find a place to mount my Harmon/Kardon Drive 'n Play … and since they have really no good spots for it i decided to put in in place of one of the vents:
This is going to be semi-temporary. I would like to eventually fiberglass the center vent and make it flush and nice looking. But right now i know nothing about how to do that, so it will stay like this for awhile.

ha! funny thing…
there is a 2001 S4 Avant going up for auction in Jersy in the near future. only 60k miles and beautiful! of course it was a theft, but nothing taken off the car.

Yea but unfortunately i did not foresee putting as much money as i am into the car! Fuckin $90 for front pads! stupid goofy ass cars
