Get that beast up and running ASAP Plus … I would love to learn more about the VQ … I have plans of my own … Stillen Supercharger is in my future so some hands on exp with engine management and just general layout of the engine would yield alot of help to me later on ---

so some one asked me what the mods i was goign to do were so here is a rough run down : haltech PNP : Q3 Race pack Dash : custom suspension : aero of some sort : 275 dunlop slicks : some RPF1’s 17"x10" : fuel cell : full cage : got some ceramic coated megan headers : plenum spacer : custom true dual side exit exhaust : fiber glass doors and hood : z32 breaks and 5 lug convert : stock 4.10 final drive : LSD of some sort : throttle cable conversion : prob missing a few other things but they will come up when time is needed or i think of stuff lol shooting for around 255-270whp and around 230-250whtq ---

well test fitted the sub frame and it fits like a glove. but the new engine mount points on the sub frame were caked in under coating spray and i wanted to see the quality of the welds under the coating so i took a wire wheel to it and holy hell this stuff was strong it took an hour to expose the weld surface. and just as i thought they were shit not sure why the sun is pink in the pic haha but what ever you can see how crappy the weld is ![http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/bigmack0001/240sx/cali041509043.jpg](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/bigmack0001/240sx/cali041509043.jpg) So i decided i want to strip the entire sub frame and re coat it in some thing better. as takign a wire wheel to it was damn near impossible and i wasn’t paying 300+ bucks to get it acid dipped. i met up with my paint sales rep and he gave me this stuff to try ![http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/bigmack0001/240sx/cali041509048.jpg](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/bigmack0001/240sx/cali041509048.jpg) now it says it does epoxy and even baked on coating AKA powder coating ( BS right ) . but it was free so gave it a shot so this is where i tried ![http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/bigmack0001/240sx/cali041509047.jpg](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/bigmack0001/240sx/cali041509047.jpg) so pasted it on let it sit for a bit ![http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/bigmack0001/240sx/cali041509049.jpg](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/bigmack0001/240sx/cali041509049.jpg) took a putty nice to it after 8mins ! and holy shit ! it worked ! ![http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/bigmack0001/240sx/cali041509050.jpg](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/bigmack0001/240sx/cali041509050.jpg) so i caked more stuff on and let it sit for about 15mins and then went scrapping. after i got the majority off i scrubed it with some simple green and then just rinsed it off with water after and then took a wire brush to it for a few mins and this is what i ended up with 🙂 ![http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/bigmack0001/240sx/cali041509052.jpg](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v336/bigmack0001/240sx/cali041509052.jpg) all in all worked awesome but got lots more to do hahaha oh well Joel ---

I remember seeing a while ago, some process where a dude put his subframe in plastic tub on his driveway. Hooked the subframe to a battery, and whatever shit was inside the tub ate all the shit off of it. Saw it on Zilvia or NICO or something. I think one of the Lethbridge guys on Driftwest did this too. ---
