This weekend (4.22.05) im going to be swapping the new DOHC motor that i bought into my car. the motor only has 70k on it and is in great conditon. ill get pics of it tomorrow. im hopefully going to get some good pics and do another SOHC to DOHC swap write up. after the engine is in and running i have some other small things im going to be doing like suspension work and fixing some imperfections. so far this is what my parts list includes: _ **ON THE CAR ALEREADY** _ **APEXI 3" Evo series catback** **Sylvania Silverstar Headlamps** _ **PARTS IN THE CAR BUT SOON TO BE INSTALLED** _ **Ebay Ghetto Intake** - bought this so i didnt have to source the intake piping and couplings. i will be getting a better filter :thumbsup **Magnaflow High Flow Catalyst with OE flanges** **MSD Blaster 2 Ignition Coil** **New Throwout Bearing** **Optima yellowtop Battery** plus i got all the E to DE swap parts which include gauge cluster, engine harness, mafs, throttle cable and ECU _ **PARTS IN MY ROOM** _ :thumbsup :heyhey ![http://www.240sxforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=15230](http://www.240sxforums.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=15230) **Eibach Sportline Springs KYB AGX Shocks/Struts NISMO Engine and Tranny Mounts Ebay Shift Boot Ebay Front Strut Brace** _ **PARTS IN THE MAIL** _ **Megan Rear Strut Brace** **Falken Azenis Tires 205/50/15** tomorrow we will be pulling out the SOHC so ill get some pics of that and also some pics of my nice clean DOHC and tranny. thanks for checkin this out and ill be sure to update it frequently with some good pics of my installs! **MORE ON THE WIRING!!** the SOHC and DOHC body harness connectors are the EXACT same but the wires are not in the same places on the harness connetors so the color wires you need to connect together will not meet up at the same pin hole. in reality you dont need to use the connectors, you can just cut off the body harness connectors on the DOHC harness and the SOHC under dash harness and connect the wires together but using teh connectors makes for a much easier and cleaner install. the wire colors you need to connect are these 5: Yellow/red --Tach Yellow/Green–speedo orange–ignition start black—ground blue/black—water temp sensor. how i connected these was like this: i wrote down where the 5 wires were located in the SOHC body harness connector by assigning each pin hole on the top row a number and each on the bottom a letter of the alphabet. i wish i saved the paper i wrote them down on. sorry :tears i next removed the sohc body connecter (white plastic clip) and dohc body harness connector (brown plastic clip) from their engine harnesses. ![http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/TwoFortySX/CIMG0715.jpg](http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/TwoFortySX/CIMG0715.jpg) i reinstalled the SOHC connector onto the DOHC engine harness using only the 5 wires needed and placing them back into the correct positions based on the information i wrote down before i pulled them out. i used electrical tape to cover all the exposed pins that i didnt need and then taped the whole bundle of wires together for a very need install! ![http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/TwoFortySX/CIMG0720.jpg](http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/TwoFortySX/CIMG0720.jpg) Jimmy ---

thanks for the compliments! i did this swap about 4 months ago and everything did go very very smooth. the car has ran better than perfect since then. im probably going to go KA-T with my car in the future but for now i want to sure up some other things. my next few things are going to be adjustable RUCAs, an energy suspension bushing kit, TEIN adjustable front and rear strut and shock mounts and possibly whiteline front and rear swaybars.
