# My battery keeps dieing!!

I bought my integra from juan last august, I was stupid and didnt look into many of the problems with the car cause i didnt know to much. He said that the battery doesnt hold a charge cause the alternator needs to be replaced. I had it checked out and autozone said it was fine. Im thinking that their maybe a short somewhere that is drawing off the battery. any suggestions on what it may be or how to find out?

how long does it take to die/does the alternator charge keep the car running/ will it start with a jump/ what year integra/ auto…???
i have seen trunk lights staying on drawing batterys… lol
do you have a dvom???

simple draw test with a test light. Remove your positive battery cable, and hook a test light (filament style, no LED) between the post clamp and the post. Start removing fuses one by one. When the light dims a lot of goes out, there’s the offending circuit. Just need to figure out what on that circuit is drawing (meaning use a wiring diagram)

Simple, measure the voltage on the batt after its been runnign for a while, it should be about 12.5 or higher. If its not, start the car and measure voltage, if its 14v and up, get a new battery, if its low, get a new alternator. If the battery has voltage, and the alternator is putting out power, kill the car,disconnect one side of the battery, and measure the power being drawn with a meter. If its a few hundred mA or higher, you have a serious load somewhere. Bracketracer has a decent way a figgureing it out posted, try that…

When I worked at the 'bone we tested about 10-15 alternators a day. More often then not, they worked short term but when they really heated up they took a shit. Customers didn’t like that much. I’d bet it’s still the alternator.
