# my beater = explodeded.

the EK blew up, apparently the oil light doesn’t come on sometime… she was atleast 3 quarts low when she started rod knocking yesterday. Had a small heartattack on delivery yesterday and i called AAA. when i got her back to rev finally got her to crank over… and i could tell she was in alot of pain, so to end it fast i just put my foot to the floor. Only took just over a minute for her to blow up… R.I.P. little EK non-vtec that could, you will be missed! :sad

i know i know. I knew it burned a little bit of oil, but i just did an oil change like a month and a half ago, maybe less. I figured it was a bit low, but with other shit going on and just rushing out to work ive been forgetting to check it. this is the 4th beater i’ve owned, and to be honest i dont really care about them so i just run 'em until the oil light flickers when i go around a turn and then i go home and dump some oil in. This one apparently didnt feel like flickering, and once it started to knock i knew it was a done deal but i kept driving it cause i was at work and the motor wasn’t worth anything anyways. i got a 1.6L ex v-tec motor, ecu, transmission going in it today… this one i’ll probably take better care of, since it’s got like 130k less miles and will run good.

You should get a sweet v-tec head on this one and have a little more fun delivering. We should modify your oil pan for an oil level sensor and wire it to the light. When your oil light goes on its a little too late cause youre losing pressure. My light comes on when Im a quart low on the Ranger “LOW OIL”

It says he has a 1.6L VTEC motor going in it from an EX :idiots :lol

Rod bearings are a weakpoint in the Y series motors in general due to lack of oil FLOW, but lack of oil in GENERAL will really speed the process up!
