BMW 1989 325i coupe - Black
Motor swap - '92 M50B25NV with dinan software, revs to 7100
custom intake
Trans swap - '92 Getrag 260 with driveshaft
LSD swap - 3.94 LSD (an insane gear ratio, the car revs really fast)
New Alternator
Power Steering Delete
Hard wired electric radiator fan (no mechanical fan)
Semi Solid trans mounts (UUC Red enforcers drilled out with through bolts)
All new shift selector collar and bushings
UUC Dual Sheer Shift Rod
New Clutch Slave
No A/C
Gutted interior with all sound deadening removed.
Sparco Harness Bar
4 point expired racing harnesses
Fixed back Corbeau racing seats on adjustable rails.
Ireland Engineering Stage III Springs
Ireland Engineering Big sway bars with adjustable end links and upgraded mounting points
Ireland Engineering Urethane rear subframe bushings
Bilstein Sport Shocks
pretty much all bushings replace / upgraded including subframe
New front hubs + Bearings
New rear wheel bearings
New Brake rotors all the way around
A bunch of sets of HP+ pads (some on the car some in boxes)
Stainless brake lines
e30 325iX Booster and Brake Master
2002tii remote reservoir
ABS delete
MtechII Replica front valance
Depo Euro Smiley Headlights
4300k HID lows
Aftermarket side skirts
Borbet Type A’s (15x7.5 IIRC)
Nokian Hakka RSI Studded
Stock bottlecaps with all season tires
OZ racing 16" wheels, with Z rated tires
optima red top battery
momo wheel hub
momo 350mm leather wheel
Pilot Sport Cups (race tires)
before the car was gutted but after the motor swap (3/4 tank of gas):

52.8% front

man, i was realy hoping to see someone shoehorn an e36 into another e36.lol wishfull thinking i guess. Great starter car. Looks like its gunna need a top mount and alotta psi’s.🙂

beyond any maintenance, my biggest plans are cage/seats/harness… but I’m not sure how soon.

I’ve never driven an E30 that felt this solid.
here are the mods that mike remembers the car having, there are probably more he’s forgetting:
> '89 325is - Black
> Tan on Black Sport interior
> '92 M50B25NV
> '92 Getrag 260 with driveshaft
> 3.94 LSD
> New Alternator
> Power Steering Delete
> Hard wired electric radiator fan (it’s on a manual switch I ran it at all times on the track)
> Semi Solid trans mounts (UUC Red enforcers drilled out with through bolts)
> All new shift selector collar and bushings
> UUC Dual Sheer Shift Rod
> New Clutch Slave
> No A/C
> Ireland Engineering Stage III Springs
> Old shocks that’ll need replacement next winter (drawing a blank on what brand)
> Replaced (new) driver’s control arm and ball joints
> Replaced (used) passanger’s control arm (w/ ball j’s)
> New front hubs + Bearings
> New rear wheel bearings
> New Brake rotors all the way around
> A bunch of sets of HP+ pads (some on the car some in boxes)
> Stainless brake lines (not installed)
> e30 325iX Booster and Brake Master
> 2002tii remote reservoir
> MtechII Replica front valance
> Depo Euro Smiley Headlights
> 6k HID highs 4300k HID lows
> Aftermarket side skirts
> Borbet Type A’s (15x7.5 IIRC)

> I’ll toss in the momo wheel hub and Pilot Sport Cups with 8 heat cycles on them (for real, used them just over 1 day at Nelson and 1 session at Dunnville).

ah, my old kah. i bought it from Sam Tackats, he used to auto-x in a maroon 4 dr scooby. came with a huge folder of maintenance history. I don’t think he bought it new but I grew up with his son and he had it as far back as I can remember.

He’ll need a different engine, transmission, suspension, and a lot of the stuff Mike deleted to get into SpecE30.
But this will be a fantastic and reliable track car…

With swapped E30s becoming more and more popular you’d think someone would create a “spec” class similar to Honda Challenge H1 for these cars.
You didn’t want to put a roll bar in the convertible eh.

I love the convertible as a really fun street car but it’s just can’t get into many track days and is not the right car / setup for track.
plus, where I’m at in my driving career, I need something I can afford to put into a wall now that the safety margin is almost gone.
