Looks Great, we need a home improvement sub section.
You need some stainless appliances now. Why didnt you get a undermount sink? I just sold stainless fridge that would have been perfect for ya.

I have a new respect for you. Very nice work.
Anyone looking to do house mods should really study what he did here.
Key things - New floor on top of clean Sub floor not old floor. Cabinets hung on framework not sheetrock. The topper is he torn it down until he could not get anything else out. Gloves are always a good idea during demo work.

If we were staying long enough to make it worthwhile we would, but we’ll be moving within a year or two. With that in mind, we were trying to keep the colors as neutral as possible.

Kraftmaid Pewter Glaze. Got em for a steal at the outlet in Ohio. $2900 for 18 cabinets. Soft touch drawers, Maple, etc. Probably $15-20k if I had custom ordered them from Lowes.

Just keeping it cheap. Moving to a nicer house within a year or two.

Laminate. Wilsonart HD. Only cost $850.

Yeah my wife is the decorator, so she came up with some colors that kept the gray cabinets pretty neutral looking.

Cabinets, countertop, floor, lighting, sink, faucet, etc, came to a touch under $8k.

I was sitting on my ass slapping mortar on tiles and handing them to her. I made her do the drywall mudding too because I hate it. :tup:
For those who liked the old cabinets, yeah the knotty pine style was OK but after 50 years of abuse they were nasty. They weren’t built well to begin with, the shelves were falling apart, the doors were warped, etc.

Haha, i was being serious! Because before there were no studs, right? So 2 x 3.5" (2x4) = 7"

thats great… and the 8 ish is not bad at all … resale value im sure went up about 15k

but there was like 1"x2" on the wall first so i say about 5.5" smaller… but you are right
