# my new shifter

a person on [neons.org](http://neons.org) makes these, their the same height as stock, but theres a 33% reduction in shifts.
very very short shifts plus he made one special for me, its a 1st gen neon assembly, with an SRT-4 rod and SRT-4 knob, im going to swap the SRT-4 center console in and put this shifter in, it should be lookin nice :gives:

I hate the shifter in my car. I have one of the POS stock SRT-4 shifter balls if you’d like to have it for a few bucks.

THe shifter he got is stock height with reduced throw, seems to be a descent mod to me. I’m surprised he is doing anything to add performance though, I thought he was a ricer. 😃

ya, i felt the mopar performance STS (thats 28% reduction) and i was amazed how short of a throw that was…
now this is 33%, he also makes a 41% but i think that would be a little crazy.
i’d put money on it that he could make any shifter people give him an STS

I checked and I don’t have the old ball here, it must be at my parents place. If you still want it, I can have it for you either Saturday or Sunday. Also, your stock shifter is a screw on ball, I believe, you know this one just presses on, right?

mine doesnt screw on, it slides on and locks, hows your press on?

It literally just presses on, there’s a little retaining clip inside, but it doesn’t work too well. Everyone I know that owns an SRT has had it come off in their hand at least once while shifting hard.
