# My parked vehicle was hit by bicyclist....

So I wasn’t home but my SUV that was parked on the street was hit by an older woman riding a bicycle.
I have some footage from my wife’s phone.
She hit the truck so hard it’s scratched in the back and actually dented in two places; you can see her forehead print on my rear glass…
She was screaming that she broke her wrist. Her husband came with in seconds and picked her up and drove off without even considering the damaged to my suv.
I’m a little pissed at my wife as well for not going outside to confront her. I don’t blame her though as she was watching our kids.
My wife got a picture of the truck but i can’t make the plate out but I know the guy cuts grass around here every so often.
I plan on filing a police report tomorrow but I’m guessing I’m pretty much fucked out of the damages.
What can I really do other wise? Anyone ever encounter this?
I swear this shit only happens to me.

I’ve already called the police and they said my wife would have to be present to give a statement; Shes currently at work. The police didn’t seem too concerned.

Sounds like lazy cops who just want you to pay your deductible and move on. Where do you live? Pretty sure if you push it they’ll have to at least look into it. Probably want to do the legwork and figure out who the mower guy is.

Sadly, its what you pay all that insurance $ for…usually to keep you “whole” from assholes.
I would love to see the video of this woman smashing in to your car…if its funny enough, send it to Bob Saget and maybe you can profit on the whole thing.

i wish I had that video too. My wife said she heard a big crash outside and then moaning. That’s when she started taking pics.

My fiance lives in the city, her building goes right up to the side walk. Its a totally blind driveway looking north up the street.
One day an older lady was riding her bike on the sidewalk going south on the north side. My fiance pulled out slowly and ended up with this old lady flying across her car. Cops came, the cyclist wasn’t too hurt, but was bleeding a bit. The police said that it was not my fiances fault at all. The bicyclist should not have been on the sidewalk, and also was going the wrong way on the street.
Either way the lady still came after my fiance for insurance purposes for her hospital visit.

This is the worse, I would 100% not let this go. I would badger the cops and make them file a report. Its bullshit that people think they have no responsibility for their actions. Find the guy mowing next time you see him and get his name, plate number, etc. Worse case, get a really high quote and have your insurance company go after them / take them to small claims court. I would also push the police to actually file charges against these scumbags.

No. As stated above, cyclists are legally supposed to be on the street. I won’t excuse the asshole cyclists that blow through lights and stop signs expecting people to constantly yield to them, though.
