Do I need this? what does it do? why is it there. Why is it sucking air from my intake peice? So many questions… it scares me.

Hopfuly you can see the pics. if not its that big tube thats at the bottom end of the air intake that leads some where down the side of the fan shroud.

I can’t tell shit from those pictures. Get some bigger pics up and we may be able to help.

PS. I was actually hoping that you found a tiny tube of spermicidal lube.

That looks like the tube that connects under the intake to a box on the side of the radiator shroud. It does nothing other then act as an intake resonator. The box is sealed with only the tube on top open to the intake.
If you are installing an aftermarket intake you can remove the box or ignore it altogether.

Yeah looks like resonator and IACV.

The IACV hose attaches to the long metal tube under the intake mani and will definitely need to stay as a part of your intake system.

The other one (facing up) should connect to the resonator which can be removed altogether…just make sure the intake system is tight when you’re done with everything!

</div>

just make sure you cover up the hole if your still using your stock intake pipe

as it will draw in air…and air drawn in after the maf sensor = fail
