Jay Leno may be a big car fanatic, but isn’t very knowledgeable about cars. I watched his video of the 911 GT2, and he said it had carbon fiber brakes… Really?? I guess it’s just top gear for my dose of autotube He also said removing cats on modern cars actually hinders the performance, and that the cats were made a “part of the car” and that it is a common misconception that removing cats will add any type of power. Where does he get his information? ---

They have carbon-ceramic brake rotors, not carbon fiber but close enough. He knows plenty about cars. ---

Accidentally saying carbon fiber brakes instead of carbon brakes seems like a pretty easy mix-up since “carbon” and “fiber” are so commonly used together… :shifty Step off mah boi Leno. ---

generally Leno knows whats-what and acknowledges that he does not know it all. His garage is nuts though, not only does he have the cars but also original literature, posters, plans and blueprints. I remember him saying that on a few cars he met the engineers. Of course the flip side is his GM sponsorship that tells him to say stuff cars perform better with cats… or the other one I heard was that tires are so good now you dont need a summer and winter tire… all seaons work perfectly. ---

ALL SEASONS he also said he uses MTL in EVERY car he has with a manual transmission. Something tells me the original engineers of his old F-cars didn’t want some crap gm lubricant in their tranny. :rofl ---
