small diameter surface is bearing surface large diameter surface is a sealing surface large flat area is a machine cam cap surface narrow flat area is cam cover sealing surface all are fully sandblasted …along with all the intake and exhaust gasket surfaces, their associated studs / threaded holes. The spark plug threads are also sandblasted from the chamber side. I am using the heads anyway. Not sure how this will pan out though. I will certainly not be using their services in the future! ---

They did so much shit work to this engine its amazing. They trimmed all the valve stems to fit properly, labeled each lash cap in a vague manner then threw all 24 caps in a box. no idea if “LE1” goes at the back or the front of the left head, 5 or 6 of the caps were illegible also, so we get to redo the entire process of setting the lash on all 24 valves. All the studs / bolt holes on the block were sandblasted. All the gasket surfaces on the block, all the machine surfaces for the oil filter / cooler boss. aall 4 cam shafts were returned to us just laying in a box (which was taped closed0 so they could bounce off each other anytime the box was shuffled around. I opened the box to find the cams positioned in a manner that ensured the sprockets for the chains were bouncing off the lobes / bearing surfaces. not even plastic bags to seperate them. Who the fuck does this sort of stupid shit ? Im surprised they didn’t throw away the cardboard separator & lil bubble wrap bags for the pistons when they had the chance just for the fun of it. ---------- Post added at 02:33 AM ---------- Previous post was at 02:04 AM ---------- #3 cap location for the left head. mating surface is obvious, the bearing surface damage is a bit out of focus but you can still sorta see it. ![http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/hotrodkid/sho%20stuff/camclose.jpg](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v473/hotrodkid/sho%20stuff/camclose.jpg) ---

I had a flywheel turned at NAPA and it came out ok, but if you can’t do that without fucking it up you probably need help getting dressed in the morning. ---

I had my Lambo’s oil changed at Walmart and they totally screwed it up yo. Who is more stupid here, you for taking your parts to nappa or nappa? ---

If I recall correctly, there have been a good handful of recommendation from people here, to use napa for machine shop work. ---

I had work done at Napa near Main & Transit in 2004. I didn’t have any issues with them, motor is still running strong 🙂 ---

picked up my flywheel from napa yesterday from getting it resurfaced. They put the dowl pins back in cocked and not even all the way. Therefore all of the above does not surprise me if they cannot complete a simple job on a flywheel ---

My 4g63 was done by NAPA about 10 years ago. It was great machine work, and is still working great. I am wondering if they got a new crew in that isn’t as experienced as before. I am sorry, I think I recommended them before. Just remember I am NOT affiliated with the machine shop! ---
