So what is my car besides a bastard child? It has DSM stickers on the frame, Eclipse interior and doors. I know the 420a is Chrysler but I’m confused. I thought I had an Eclipse with different bumpers. Is the 420a Eclipse not considered a true DSM as well?

Technically speaking, only 1G eclipses, talons, lasers and galant VR4s and early '95 production year eclipses and talons were built under the joint venture which was Diamond Star Motors but since they were still produced in the DSM plant in Normal, Illinois and went largely unchanged, the other 2nd gen 4G63 powered eclipses and talons are still considered DSMs.
Anything 420a powered is not a DSM. Avengers were built in the DSM plant but were not built under the joint venture and didn’t come with the 4g63.
That’s it in a nutshell.
