# NEED HELP: \\BOOT\\BCD Windows Vista

Hi guys, I need your insight…
The computer is: Laptop, HP Pavilion TX 1000
OS: Windows Vista Home Premium
Initial problem: Installed WarCarft III game, played for a while, then the computer suddenly frozen up. Rebooted the computer.
**After reboot** : Unable to go inside Windows Vista. After waiting for about 5 minutes, the following message came up:

Did a lot of Googling. Tried many things.
1. Went to Command Prompt using Windows Vista installation disk.
2. Got into “X:\sources”
3. The problem: Unable to go to "C:"
4. Used “DiskPart”, “Select Disk=0” commands, however, did not work,
5. Used “DiskPart”, “List Disk” commands, nothing shows up.
6. Used “BootRec /rebuildbcd” command, however, unable to pinpoint the disk to rebuild BCD.
_THE MOST PUZZLING THING:_
Used **Slax Linux-On-CD** …and NO PROBLEM to go inside KDE…
The hard drive is recognized inside Linux under “Systems-Storage Media” and it ables to mount it and I can see all the data inside the hard drive!! :banghead:
Any ideas?

HD may be toast, I know I’ve been able to see HDs in Linux after Windows fails to get along with them and save some files, but most times its the beginning of the end. If you need something, get it now.

shit. LOL.
good suggestion.
i may want to try to reformat it back to XP. I’ll try to see if XP installation can see the HD.
