So ive tried two different clusters and i still cant get a reading on the tach, any ideas? 93 civic with a gsr swap and stock p72 ---

check the tach wire? It may plug into the coilpack if you have one ---

Yea i will be there in the morning, going to the pitt game, from honda-tech they said check the dizzy, i replaced the cap and rotor but they gave no specifics on what to check ---

Inside the distributor is the ICM (Ignition control module), there should be a blue wire leaving the distributor via the harness. That is your tach signal running to the cluster. Just before it hits the firewall on the drivers side it should split into tow and have a service connection so an external tach can be connected…use it’s color to be sure you have the correct wire. Follow that wire and see if there are any breaks, or loose connections. > The tachometer drive circuit receives pulses from > the ignition control module (lCM) in the distributor > assembly. The solid-state tachometer then displays > these pulses as engine speed. For each 200 pulses > per minute from the ignition control module (lCM), > the tachometer displays 100RPM. ---

^ he’s right check the blue wire; you must have a short somewhere. let us know if you figure it out.
