anyone know where i can buy a nice collector to build a new exhaust manifold from? i once found an awesome site with one already sqaured off at the end to accept a t3 inlet flange but have since not been able to find that link again. i need something pretty short/compact that would merge four tubes with a dia. of 2" outer. can anyone help?

Go to hybrid. They will make you a whole manifold if you wanted.

im thinkin we could make something simple out of some plate steel

are we using the flange off your current header or are you getting a new one ?

IBSOMEONESAYSSOMETHINGABOUTPOORWELDSANDHYBRIDDOINGABETTERJOBFORWHATYOUWANT

on another note. it’s not that easy and tig welding is the way to go for work like this. mild steel can be used and i suggest you use it if you going to try it yourself.

weve already had this discussion about my welding

yess my sheet metal welds look crappy on the outside, but ive already shown in another thread that my weldas ALSO have plenty of penetration

plate steel is easier to weld because its damn near impossiible to blow thru, at worst your just going to undercut it if you wire speed dosnt match your heat setting

i think i can manage just fine, thanks

We can fab a whole manifold for you. If you (focusinprogress) are going to DIY, I wouldn’t suggest learning on the manifold, as it sees alot of stress and is prone to cracking welds, and unless your welds are dead on they are likely to crack. We’ve already seen quite a few well known manufacturer’s models fail already. Also, sheet metal is going to suck shaping runners and isn’t going to retain heat unless its like 1/8" thick plus.

cmon, where are you guys getting this sheet metal idea from?

nick already stated he would be using [these](http://www.jgstools.com/turbo/thp.html) tubes (0.188 thick)
