# Neon help asap?

Ok so my gf has a 99 Neon. Automatic transmission’s torque converter sounds like its shitting the bed.
This happened on my Jeep over the summer and it would just eatup fluid for awhile and then eventually died. And heres right now rev’s up and then kicks in id say around 3200rpm’s… it also makes a loud whine…
Brent from Roclife is hooking us up with a torque converter, but since I have an apartment with no garage or tools up here I’m seeing who has a garage to do this?
Not looking to spend 80/hr on a mechanic for a simple job (well relatively simple). But will toss some $$ and labor in the swap.
Let me know if anybody can help me out.

Maybe ask HRK or (RedConquestTSi), or just leave it the way it is and tell people you have SIQQQQQQ stall converter in you neon.

have her buy my whole neon, and then she’ll be set. She can do burnouts in 4th gear, and never have to worry about her torque converter again 🙂

Only problem with a sick stall converter is pretty soon its just not gonna move anymore haha

hows the tranny fluid look. there should be a engine light on in a 99 if the trannys bad. sounds more then a torque convertor to me

tranny fluid keeps getting eaten up. putting about 2qts or so every 2 days.
just grabbed some lucas stop slip and see if that will calm it down for a few days… although when my jeeps went i had used some lucas the week before with no help…
the check engine light is on, but it’s been on and wasnt for the tranny. ill get it scanned tomorrow and see what the code it

well with that car its prolly on for egr and iam sure theres a tranny code in there if its slipping

Also, noticed the tranny fluid is leaking considerably…
Anybody got a garage or anything I can bring the car by today or tomorrow?

ok so i slid under it today and all the tranny lines looked like crap and were leaking. took it to a shop to get em replaced. it was also dreadfully low on fluid, so hopefully no damage was done.
