Ok so I ordered a new computer and just spent awhile building it. It went really smooth, especially considering it was my first build. I was really suprised to see it boot up! I wanted something to use for my photo business and some serious gaming. Anyways, I always give a ton of pictures, so without further adou…

Very nice, I \<3 AC Freezer’s heat sinks, incredible cooling possibilities without having to run water cooling.

Although I would run Vista Ultimate over Home. Nor would I have actually bought a copy of the OS, but that’s just me 😉 Looks good, what happened with the old rig.

ugh i would love to know how to do all that…probably so much more cost efficient than buying a product already put together, and the obvious bonus of having everything you want and only what you want, none of the extra junk…

Seriously, to throw a average computer together is like 30 mins for a liquid cooled, 4 raptors in raid, and dualie sli’d vid cards. The majority of that time is spent admiring the products before you put them in and never see them again, and figuring out where the hell the dam hdd activity led goes on the mobo…

How does that lcd look? That one allways looked a little yellow to me, but thats decently adjustable on a computer. Im assuming that video card came with some sort of cool calibration software?

I dont know about being that close to a 42" monitor though. Wouldnt you need to massively move around to see stuff, and text would be rough?

It usually takes 10 mins, but im determined to get it to work. But i guess you dont need a light anyways. You sure as hell can hear a few raptors churning away.

Actually, that kind of TV is perfect if you have a photo or video editing business. More desktop space and no need for two monitors, plus you can show your stuff in HD (if your camera is HD).

I have more than enough room on my desk and lots of room for my desk…

just seems like the 1920 X 1080 reso is kind of weak for a photo business… I think i would prefer spending 500 - 750 bucks on two monitors or more and having a 3360 X 1050 resolution or 5040 X 1050 resolution. and having just WAY more room to do things… Especially when you can calibrate the monitors… much better.

My current set up I have a TON of space on my desk…

Word… Those are some big pixels getting 1920x1080 (aka 1080P) out of a 42" lcd vs a real monitor that would have that in a monitor 1/2 the size, aka 4x less area. And the contrast ratio is usually lower on a large lcd vs a real monitor. Refresh rates suffer… etc… etc…

Its not like $5000 in parts, check newegg, I bet proly 1200-1500 total as that video card is def a good chunk of cash though lol. Nice job Josh.

HDD leds, as well as pwr buttons led, reset led, etc.; if I don’t have the mobo manual, or the board and cables aren’t labeled I’ll just say fuck it, but pretty much all new equipment have them labeled and takes a matter of 30 seconds to hook em up.
