I’m pricing out to build one to replace my aging P4, I’m going to pull the trigger once I get a free coupon for Windows 7 with a vista purchase.
First I was looking at building an Intel Atom machine, until I played with one. They are too slow for what I want.
I wanted to build a energy efficient PC.
Now I want to build something with a antec 80plus power supply, and an antec silent case.
The quad core AMD chips are 99 bucks right now. Too bad they are over 100watts…
I could put together a real nice system with a legit copy of vista for under 600 bucks.

^ Just build a regular 600 watt system and set it to hibernate after 10 minutes.

I have heard Kalyway is not the best for AMD based hackintosh’s I would do some searching at insanelymac and look at the Wiki HCL for the different ones prefered for AMD. Kalyway and iATKos I believe where catered more towards intel based boxes but I do believe they technically support AMD ones.
