Notice how composed it is at speed, and how many times the driver (Probably Jan or Johnny) looks down on the back straight at the speed. 190+ on the high bank, and steady as Hell.

That car looked more stable at 200 than it did at 100. Amazing.

If they’re the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2’s like they use on A LOT of supercars, prolly a long time. I was reading about how at 200mph, they only expand about 1-2mm. Very stiff.

</div>

At 200 MPH? Half an hour, educated guess. Fuel tank would be empty after 15-20 minutes, so it wouldn’t matter.

The Veyron’s tires are shot in about 15 minutes, top end, but the tank is empty in 12. I’m just ballparking from there.

Not only was the ZR1 stable, it was stable at 190+ ON the high bank!

pretty much GM stepped their game up from the C6 Z06 which already blew a load in fords/dodges faces and to stir the pot even more, they created this supercar on crack…nice big fuck you to all the other domestic companys putting out the ford GT and the Viper! lol

GM has really stepped their game up within the last few years…rather impressive.

</div>

Look at the various reviewers and their attitudes -
You’ve got guys like Jeremy Clarkson, who loves the Z06 as a track car but only begrudgingly admits that a Corvette is anything more than a clunky piece of shit that happens to go fast.

Then there’s Tiff, on Fifth Gear, who has an F1 background. His actual words were “The Americans are showing US how to make a car handle.” The power oversteer the Corvette is known for is dialed into the chassis; that setup is bred down from the ALMS cars that have dominated GT1 for nearly a decade.

But they are still losing ridiculous money. They need to learn from Toyota/Honda’s playbook.

It’s all in the shocks/struts and suspension computers of the MSRC(magnetic selective ride control) on this car. Porsche has been stable like that since the advent of PASM(porsche active suspension management) in the 996 Turbo and now reworked even better into the 997 turbo. 9FF brought their Turbo up to 250mph and was just as stable. You can “fall alleep” behind the wheel of these cars at those speeds.

the car is undoubtedly impressive but they still skimped in a few places in production, I’ve read they still use the 2v pushrods :nono but its still going to be fast as all hell,

Yes, they use 2 valve pushrods. Engines are essentially air pumps - the velocity that GM is getting through the latest generation heads allows them to move an incredible amount of air.

Cars don’t always work like videogames - adding a bunch of camshafts does not always equate to more power. I don’t want to hear arguments about “specific output” either, the torque curve on the LS9 will be immense and the hardest problem will be putting it down in a smooth, streetable fashion on a drivetrain layout that GM can also warranty and run on pump gas.

Alot of people do not realize that 1st statement. Regardless of the engine design…more air and more fuel will equal more power…the rear (or front) tires don’t know the difference from a pushrod motor or OHC…
