I recall seeing this image in Car Mag (a british publication) around a year ago, and it was a pshop then. Dont see why people would think it wasnt now? ---

YOu know, before they released the mclaren they flooded the market with all kinds of fake spy shots, lotus could be doing the same thing? ---

Sorry guys, haven’t been around much lately. To clear up some things I know: 1. This is by no means a new drawing/concept car. I’ve seen this drawing going around for over a year now. 2. What you see can not really be verified yet. I am sceptacle that it will look like this. Maybe it will, maybe it won’t. 3. The rumors I’ve heard is that the new Esprit is slated to come out as a 2008 model, and should still be named the Esprit. 4. A V8 TT is nothing new from Lotus, but do not expect it to be the same “Lotus” V8 TT as the last generation. It could very well be BMW powered, and may not be a V8 at all. 5. Spy shots of a real driving new Esprit have been seen by some Lotus guys on the turboesprit yahoo list, but no pictures or proof has been shown to me yet. That’s all I know as of now. ---

I am not suprsied by this news at all. All the Lotus guys felt the same way as I did regarding the 5 year plan from a couple years ago…it was overly optimistic to expect such a small brand to follow throught with a plan of that magnitude. I mean, the Evora was the first “new” car/chassis Lotus really made since the original Elise from 1996. Nearly 15 years between. How the hell were they going to then create 5 new cars on a 5 year plan? I mean, we all remained hopeful, but come on… Dany Bahar all but drove the final nail in the Lotus coffin. I hope and pray the company survives, but we’ll see…I mean, who knows what will happen, it’s not like Lotus hasn’t been on the brink tons of times before…and VW keeps popping up in Lotus circles about buying them up…that would def. give the company some newfound stability…I don’t know what’s going to happen… [Previous page](https://forums.speedlife.net/t/new-lotus-esprit/9874.md?page=2)
