This reminds me of what Subaru “should” have done to the WRX transmission case to fix the flex issue that let to stripped gearsets, etc.
If it were me for the t-case redesign, I would have also included a cryo-treated gearset as well as the output shaft if nothing else were to be done.

It doesn’t look overly complex. Would be fairly easy with some spare time and access to a CNC. Looks like it was done pretty fast. That’s a shit tone of material to remove, I’m sure they didn’t mill it all out, if they did, they are idiots. A chunk of aluminum that big isn’t cheap. Very cool though :tup:

I’m sure it’s not all about cost. There are plenty of 3S guy’s that would pay $5000 for a Transfer Case if they new it wasn’t going to explode. 900AWHP is no joke.

Oh, stuff will still break… there’s alot of mass for that 900AWHP to try to move, and that will cause some stress. By the time you beef everything up enough, you’ll be up to Bugatti Veyron weight…

3s cars are prone to break…thats just how it is…besides why waste money on something that isnt needed yet jack? your not 500 wheel? im just saying i wouldnt buy it till it breaks??? right 1k in go fast parts is better then making something better work that isnt brolen yet right…example fully built rear end in a muscle car…added security of not breaking…trhen you got joe smoe with a stock rear end and hes goin faster not breaking anything…dont replece till it breaks…i broke 2 rear ends in the 1g awd eclipse before i went built. and the second time it blew before the built rear i drove it with a bad driveshaft beaing and it shook it to shit and blew it…why buy it if you aint racing every week??? sorry man dont think spending 1k or more on something that aint broken yet…and i used to own a dsm sooo yeah…my opinion

There’s one job we do for a certain customer at my shop that requiers bending 1/2" alumn. bar. Depending on whats cheaper at the metal supplier they sometimes get the hard shit wich needs to be pre-heated in order to bend it or it’ll snap and crack. I’m about 95% sure its T6065, I might be wrong though and changes are I am 🙂
