# new vmount system

i just redid the whole cooling system in the s14.
i cut up a greddy FMIC.
used a Griffin rad, blitz bov.
we made new hotpipe and cold pipe as well as replacing the 90 degree coupler off the turbo outlet with a welded peice.
we also relocated the filler cap for the rad to somewhere more accessable and so that the rad could be even lower and more angled.
new carbing stb as well with a built on mater cyclinder brace.
we also finished up the prototype guage pods for the s14 as well.
i also decided i wanted hood pins to replace the stock latch, but i didnt want them visible, so we mounted them off the hood and the latches off the rad support.
it works perfectly, couldnt have asked for better.
still need to do some ducting and make a hood and mount the torque shock.

BAS does good welding and does good work. Which is why I went to him
for my dowpipe.
Can we get some front bumper pics?
I’m curious to see how it looks from the front.

derek that car is very sleeper and stealthy with the vmount and hoodpins like that.
the car looks real good. the interior trims look nice as well.

so where does all the air go after the intercooler? you need some hood vents at the back just under the windshield…
if you cut out the bracing under the hood and extend some kind of duct over the weatherstripping to hold it down when you shut the hood, that will make a huge difference

so what is spool like on this compaired to the S13??
alsom are you going to put something bigger then the T25 in?? you are going to spool out fast.
but looks good man, good to see you keeping the V-Mount alive and kicking.

you mean on the alloy piping\>??? You build up a weld becuse the heat you put into that spot weakens the material… by taken away that build up you’ve removed any strength from that point. on some materials you can do that but aluminum you can’t as welding removes ALL heat treating… over time the alloy will go back to '1/2 hard ’ in this case a ~T4 instead of the former T6, that’s how it works… you can gain back the T6 with an un annealed and re heat treated metal… but the cost to do that is worth more then the V mount… so no gain.
the welds also give the V mount some detail… which adds intrinsic value to the over all effect.

i love the louvered look, i just have no idea how to make them look good.

at first yes, but the difference in temp between the hot and cold pipes with out the hood is very substantial
