# New York needs to raise taxes

well we have a law that requires a balanced budget IIRC. If they don’t deal with it now they’re going to have to in the fall. Which means, these cuts, an increase in taxes on those making \>1m like silver wants, or likely some combination of both.

Poor, but not truely poor, NYS poor. Only in NYS can you be on welfare, but still have a new truck, and a snowmobile. Poor in the way that you can buy food with your foodstamps, but still muster enough cash for a lotto ticket and beer. Poor as in you can get WIC until your kid turns 18. … that kinda poor. Your not very wealthy, but you still get the good stuff in life.
