# Newman's 1986 BMW 326rb build thread.

Car is ready to go to the blasters, but i didn’t have a good way to get it on and off the trailer, so i made this chassis dolly. The 2 pins in the rear pick up the holes for the rear subframe and the front frame rails sit on the other end of the cart. I tried it out and it works great. The casters and wheels were only 40 bucks from harbor freight, and the steel was all FREE :snky: Sorry about the shitty pics, i was planning on doing a huge picture update today, but my camera batteries died last night. ☹

What you need is a 5hp motor for that cart :tup:

car is back at the blaster. the chassis cart made this a breeze.

because the first time they couldn’t do it so i scraped most of it off by hand, and now it’s back there. That’s what i’ve been doing the past 4 weeks. LOL.

yeah. though i really think i can hit may 08.
only a year behind schedule. 🙂
I expressed the importance of getting this done ASAP to suzukiriderman last night. I think he understands the urgency.
I need to obtain some plastic bumpers so that when it returns from the blaster i can do the bodywork on the car, which will be a whole task in and of itself. Though the body wrk is not very extensive.

It all hinges on how long the bodywork/paint takes. Once that is complete, it’s just bolting shit back together, really. The paint is the last part of custom work…
I might be a bit overzealous with a claim of May '08 but if it’s not done by june, it’s getting shelved until the winter again.

it was, but at the same time, the underbody of my e30 will be cleaner than any one i could have purchased, and won’t be halfassed and painted over the undercoating like this:
