Getting an 8 point cage point in my s13 coupe… having a cage drastically increases the stiffness of the chasis… even if you only want one for you DD it is definately the best bang for your buck when it comes to improving your cars handling… and look how good the welds are on marks cage…

A simple 4 point doesn’t affect the DD-ability too much. How many kids on here have stripped interiors for no reason anyways! haha. I know I did for a looong time.

only problem i found with cages (mine is bolt in), is it really hampers the ability for those who track to bring shit with them if they dont own a truck.
I ran out of wheels last track day and i had another set or two at home that were mounted, just couldnt fit them into the car after i installed my cage.

i saw a pic of a 180 that had a tire rack mounted to the rear like a bike rack…
cant find the pic though

True, but you need proper seats to protect your head from the main hoop. If you put in anything more than a 4 point (or a 6 with drag bars) you really _should_ be wearing a helmet at all times. This is why I don’t recommend cages for DD’s and why I rarely take my track car on the street. When your head hits a metal bar, padded or not (SFI padding, not a fucking pool noodle like I so often see) it’s not pretty.

I’ve been planning on a cage for the 180 for a little while now, Still gotta talk to some people first.
Theres another pic of the Wheel rack 180 too, from the front. The exhaust on that car is so sick too 🙂

I want to… i have a lot of plans/wish list… but i dont think i will be doing any kind of work on the car this coming year ☹ Other priorities financially atm… sigh. Probably just gona do some maintenance and track days and that’s it :-/
