I was pissed at the campbell trade because I felt he needed to go out and get a physical defenseman, and the last thing we needed was another forward. He corrected it and went out and got a physical defenseman. Darcy et al really have dug us into a pretty awful hole though. Players simply don’t want to come here. We either have to blow away free agents with offers, something he is clearly not prepared to do, or go the trade route and give up equal talent for the type of guys other teams go out and sign without losing anything, in order to force people to play here. If they have a choice, they’re going somewhere else. We’ve been screwing our own since Peca. ---

While I do agree with that article, I very often disagree with Gleason and I think he just bullshits articles at times ---

im not a fan of this. i think it cheapens it a little. if they want to make it an annual thing, maybe. but that leaves only like what, 6 cities that would be able to host one? its a bad move IMO. make it every 3 or 4 years or so. but i will say. it was the best sporting event i have ever been to. very well done all the way around. hopefully they do it right again. but i do like the matchup. it will get good ratings. lots of good young players to watch. ---
