the nhl network is coming to direct tv real soon (possibly tonight…ch. 215), and is apparently available for dish network and comcast. ive been waiting for this for a while now. hopefully it wont cost anything. just wanted to pass this along for others who may be interested in 24/7 hockey.

Nope. I flipped to it last night when looking through the HD guide and they were replaying some Toronto game in SD.
On a slightly related note, I noticed that a lot of the sports alternate channels in the 445 range now have an HD alternate mapdown (ex, 445, and 445 HD). Could Dish be working on getting the HD feeds of the RSN’s?

I spent some quality time on the phone with a high level tech two days ago. Yes, they are working on bringing major local - followed by regional sports networks.
It’s no longer a hardware limitation, but one of negotiations & contract terms.
