It was a pretty frustrating failure. The retainer clip that holds the release bearing on popped out so he couldn’t disengage the clutch. It’s a known issue, but they sold us the clutch anyways. RRRRRRRR… ---

If you’re talking about the wave springs that’s not the issue. According to Exedy USA they have no fix for the issue yet. They are looking into a push type conversion for the Evo since AMS, Shawna’s car, and others can’t get down the track for the exact same reason. The big Mitsu racers at the event all asked what happened and when Emery told them how the clutch failed they all said “Exedy right?”. It was pretty frustrating. -Mike edit: This issue only happens on certain Evos for anyone reading this. There are no problems on any other application and only people with 500+ whp who are also revving past 8000 or so are experiencing the issue, but they’ve had failure after failure like clockwork. ---
