I might have found a helmet, but need to make sure it’s legit. It’s a HJC CL-14 ([http://www.epinions.com/content\_232149192324](http://www.epinions.com/content_232149192324)) with a snell rating of M2000. Will this work? It says in the NHSCC handbook that the rating needs to be at 85 or higher. It’s a motorcycle helmet, so I don’t know if that will affect it at all. ---

Just looked in the rule books, ‘M’ helmets are legal 🙂 Actually I think a friend of mine has the same one you posted. Just remember if your head is really close to the headliner in your car, a ‘M’ helmet typically sits a little higher than a standard ‘SA’. So if your tight on room just consider that, if you got some room to spare then you should be ok. ---

They may be fine for autox, but if you go to BeaveRun, they are not allowed. This is just a warning in case you decide one of these days to take your car onto a track. I will for sure be there sunday. May be up saturday to help instruct / shag cones and take a couple of runs. May have to leave a little early though to tackle some projects around the house. Last I talked to him, my dad will be there also. He has a 2.3 mazda 3 sedan. It’s auto though, but does amazing. I think I even won HS with it at a race last season. That was with a whopping 3 competitors in the class. ---

I’ll be there instructing tomorrow, probably bring my black civic hatch out if the battery hasn’t died again. Sunday I’ll be running my silverish RSX just for shits. Look for the black helmet with yellow strips and teeth lol. Both days start with registration from 8:30 to 9:30am. Tech inspection closes at 10:00am. Runs follow the mandatory Drivers Meeting. Event should wind up around 4pm give or take, hard to say. You won’t need numbers for the school, but sunday you will. Just bring masking tape thats you best bet. Cost should be $20. And a helmet of course (read back a page or two in this thread if you have questions about the helmet). ---

Whats so illegal about your car that your this worried? I mean hell we had a kid last year in a SRT4 running cords on his rear tires they at least let him finish out the day.
