They will fire ICBMs that are intended to travel thousands of miles - only to have them screw up like their prior ones and crash land after only a short flight. ---

+1 more on the cut-off of everything… however…in the event that bombing was unavoidable… i’m not in favor of us bombing them…but i am in favor of it if this becomes a matter of “who strikes first” and not just a matter of “are they/we going to strike” if confronted with a big dude, and you can’t really run anywhere…and he’s sitting there, saying he’s going to hit you…do you brace yourself and let him hit you first?..or try to get in a quick hard shot right off the bat to give yourself a chance? i know this is completely different…but if they ARE going to attempt to bomb us…we need to beat them to it… ---

NK’s not really a big dude though… it’s more like, you’re the big dude and you don’t want this schmuck to do something stupid… but when it happens, you don’t want to look like the bad guy throwing a whupping down… ---

it’s more like they’re not stupid enough to do anything…but if we do something first, then they just wont care… that’s the thing with missles…there’s a nice gap between launch and hit where the other guy can do something stupid And when it comes to nuclear anything, 90% chance of the US not getting hit isn’t good enough to gamble on ---

Right now NK knows they can make these threats and get away with it because everyone knows they have no way of following up on them. If they had a delivery method and made the same threat it would be a completely different situation, and warrant a pre-emptive strike. But in that case I don’t think they would be dumb enough to make the threat in the first place. ---

Are we really in range? I don’t think so according to the other thread on NK and nukes. So I say cut them off, we won’t get any DIRECT effects from it.(I kid, I kid) But really, cut them off. ---

Totally cut them off. Their economy will collapse and they will not have the money/resources to build more nukes to the scale they would need to go to war. ---

I would rather risk some of the population of a country threatening us with war, than have a nuke hit an American city and kill a population 1/5 the size of their county’s pop. Even f their technology is not that good, there is still a chance it could hit, and that is a chance I don’t think we should take lightly. Though if they did do something that stupid, You, I, and the rest of the world knows we will totally wipe them off the face of the earth. ---
