Great idea with looking at a 600 next. Your insurance will probably be very affordable after totaling a 300…

Oh, shut up. The both of you. You or I will never master any bike 100% and if you say you have, you’re full of it. Maybe if your last name is Stoner or Rossi. I spent every day, just about, on that thing and did 3,9xx miles in under 3 months. Am I a master? No. Do I feel comfortable on A bike at this point (especially the 300)? Absolutely. If I hadn’t crashed this bike, the plan was to at least ride next season on it again. But since it’s likely done/gonna cost a boat load to fix and since the future (which initially was a few years down the road) had me getting a 600 ANYWAY, if I do get on a bike in the spring, it’ll just be a 600 instead of spending money AGAIN on another 300 which will only get sold down the line. Screw off and get off your high horse. Also, for the record, I don’t think many of you would have made it out of that corner unscathed. Someone (FD?) cleaned it up as I went to look again today and it’s much cleaner, but at night coming around a corner it would have caught every single one of you by surprise and most of you would have had the same result or close to it. I was shooting for the grass, but simply didn’t make it. If I had gotten it to the grass and not have gone airborne/gotten separated from it…I likely would have rode it home and this thread wouldn’t even exist.

Did I say I was an expert? No. Based on the conditions that I encountered last night, I don’t think many a motorcycle rider (not just you dudes on Shift518) would have had luck. The road was littered in gravel. If you think you’re so awesome and would have gone through that as if the road was clean, more power to you. I do not agree.

I’ve only got about 30kmi+ bike miles over the past 10 years. I’ve never seen gravel on a road before, so yeah, you’re right
But if they guy who’s had a bike for 3 months and laid it down prior to this incident can’t make it, no one can

I do get my panties in a bunch because you’re a f’in asshole.
I don’t care if you had 1 mile of experience or 300,000 miles. Try going around a corner with a shovel or two of gravel (not just little pebbles/sand partciles that we encounter pretty much on every ride as riders but actual ROCKS) all across the entire road surface (not just on the outside or inside of the lane) at 30mph and record it on video. Your 10+ years of experience and 30,000 miles will make a negligible difference, in my opinion. You might not end up slamming your helmet face first into the ground and sliding, but I would make bets that you would get wobbly and/or end up in the grass at the least.
It was a crappy scenario, period. WTF is your issue?

2. It seems like your pride won’t let you admit you haven’t mastered the 300 yet, my .02
3.Usually people don’t crash a bike after only riding for 3 months and go right to something twice as fast, I can see you not wanting to buy another 300 then a 600 shortly after but it isn’t worth your life.
1. I’ve never owned a motorcycle this is a pure self preservation point of view, Just because you can afford a 600 or bigger doesn’t mean you can handle it
