The best part of this entire bill is gun owners who said “Well this will just ban those evil assault rifles” Tons of stories of people who had no idea it would cause issues for handguns/ammo purchases/recerting pistol permits/etc and now they’re upset ---

I did not see the Springfield M1a being on the [http://troopers.ny.gov/Firearms/NYS\_SAFE\_Act/](http://troopers.ny.gov/Firearms/NYS_SAFE_Act/) list. I understand it is capable of 8rnds. Was looking at picking one up soon. Edit: assuming Springfield comes out with a 7rnd mag… fucking joke ---

A typical M1A comes with a flash suppressor = scary gun, so unless you remove that and have pre-ban 10rd mags you still can’t buy a new one. ---

Crime is going down. Most of the crimes are with pistols. But everyone is fixated on even assault rifles. /sigh Found some numbers for NY last year. Clearly we have our priorities straight here. ---

I love that there are more bare hands related homicides than there are with rifles. I think it’s time for a bill mandating we chop off people’s hands, you know, for the children. ---

if anyone is concerned about losing thirty round mags for there AR just say they are .458 socom mags. 30 round .223 mags hold exactly 10 rounds of .458, quid pro quo they are 10 round mags 🙂 ---

Who has a machine shop now I just need to make a gun that stores 6 in the frame and 7 in the mag lol On another note you can chamber 1 round and top off the mag so 7+1 :lol: ---

Weird how people rationalize things 62 kids under the age of 18 got killed in Chicago last year with 0 national attention or demand for action. 20 get shot in suburbs and we take immediate action which will do nothing to stop crazy people The fucked up thing is the 62 deaths in Chicago could actually be controlled/prevents this isn’t dealing with crazy people but poverty, drugs, gangs, and issues that can be fixed. sorry to go all federal, but I haven’t seen this throw in yet. You guys like or hate? OBAMA’S 23 EXECUTIVE ACTIONS ON GUNS 1. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal agencies to make relevant data available to the federal background check system. 2. Address unnecessary legal barriers, particularly relating to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, that may prevent states from making information available to the background check system. 3. Improve incentives for states to share information with the background check system. 4. Direct the Attorney General to review categories of individuals prohibited from having a gun to make sure dangerous people are not slipping through the cracks. 5. Propose rulemaking to give law enforcement the ability to run a full background check on an individual before returning a seized gun. 6. Publish a letter from ATF to federally licensed gun dealers providing guidance on how to run background checks for private sellers. 7. Launch a national safe and responsible gun ownership campaign. THE NRA HAS RUN THIS FOR MANY YEARS! 8. Review safety standards for gun locks and gun safes (Consumer Product Safety Commission). 9. Issue a Presidential Memorandum to require federal law enforcement to trace guns recovered in criminal investigations. 10. Release a DOJ report analyzing information on lost and stolen guns and make it widely available to law enforcement. 11. Nominate an ATF director. 12. Provide law enforcement, first responders, and school officials with proper training for active shooter situations. 13. Maximize enforcement efforts to prevent gun violence and prosecute gun crime. 14. Issue a Presidential Memorandum directing the Centers for Disease Control to research the causes and prevention of gun violence. 15. Direct the Attorney General to issue a report on the availability and most effective use of new gun safety technologies and challenge the private sector to develop innovative technologies. 16. Clarify that the Affordable Care Act does not prohibit doctors asking their patients about guns in their homes. 17. Release a letter to health care providers clarifying that no federal law prohibits them from reporting threats of violence to law enforcement authorities. 18. Provide incentives for schools to hire school resource officers. 19. Develop model emergency response plans for schools, houses of worship and institutions of higher education. 20. Release a letter to state health officials clarifying the scope of mental health services that Medicaid plans must cover. 21. Finalize regulations clarifying essential health benefits and parity requirements within ACA exchanges. 22. Commit to finalizing mental health parity regulations. 23. Launch a national dialogue led by Secretaries Sebelius and Duncan on mental health. ---

For the most part the EO’s posted are good or should have already been happening. Like information being shared between agencies for background checks. The horror will start when Congress starts to make laws that stem from them and they are completely twisted beyond belief. ---
