Unlike the Christians (Catholics I will use loosely) the Muslims allowed other religions to be practiced within their territories without consequence. The Ottoman and Safavid Empires were for tolerant of other peoples’ religion and culture unlike that of the Catholics. So much so that even the Ottoman Empire helped out the Protestant side during the Thirty Years War aka the Holy Wars in the 1500s. The Muslim faith has been very welcoming of others unlike that of Catholic who would go, kill and destroy that went anything remotely against their faith, be it Muslim, Jew, then Protestant, then Scientific Revolution. So don’t talk about Muslim conquest, when the Christians have been doing it since the death of Jesus well before the start of the Islamic faith in 617. ---

I am not saying Christians are innocent. All religions are guilty of conquest and destruction. I hate the idea of religion, so I am 100% not arguing in favor of Christian faith here. IMO they are just as bad, not with international terrorism but terrorism in our own country against pro-choice, abortion right clinics, etc. This isn’t an argument about what faith is better. It is about the fact that Muslim radicals blew up our city and now Muslims want to build a mosque in the same area. Put the shoe on the other foot for a minute. Lets say that Christans went into a Muslim city and killed thousands of people by destroying their buildings. Then in the same city, built catholic churches. This has happened and was met with opposition by the Muslims… ---

Just start with google or wiki, both of which list many sources you can get this information.
