Subways and Buses…are teh Ferry’s running…my girlfriend’s brother lives in Staten Island…his girlfriend works in Manhattan…she needs to take the Bus and Ferry to work…i bet she didnt make it ---

Unions are digging their own grave. They have ZERO place in the modern economy/business world. They had their place back in the day, now all they are doing is shooting themselves in the foot. :cough:GM:cough: And the strikes are actually illegal, so it really is organized crime. ---

i agree that the MTA union (TWU) is asking for too much, but if you worked with rats with bad healthcare and saw your company give away $1 billion you probably would be a bit miffed. i was able to make it to work, got a nice walk out of it, and didn’t experience major delays besides me oversleeping from staying up half the night trying to find out if they were going to strike or not. fortunately for me i go on vacation after today so i don’t have to deal with this. good luck. ---

I’d love an 8% raise every year. At that rate, I’d hit the $100,000 / year mark when I am 46. Maybe I should make it my goal to beat that. ---

The worst part is it’s a guaranteed. You suck at your job, 8%. Massive downturn in the economy, 8%. I’ve had years where I’ve done better than 8%, but it was years when I took on huge tasks and responsibilities and made my company lots of money. If I just came in and punched the clock for a 40 hour week (oh wait, I’m in a union in this daydream… make that 35 hours a week) I wouldn’t expect more than a cost of living increase. ---

I have said it before, this is starting to remind me of the USSR, get a job with the government because they are the richest people. ---
