I missed the cruise up, and got to the parking lot at about 12:45. I was draggin a bit from a birthday celebration the night before. I left with Pauly/CamaroJoe/Nelstoys at around 2ish. I was hoping to be able to check out the cars more, but it seemed like everyone was all scattered about away from the cars while I was walking around.

Anyone know what kind of snake that is?
My girlfriend got a good close up pic of it because it was on the trail we were on. It was about 3.5feet long and about the thickness of a paper towel roll. I didn’t realize snakes got that big around here?

It’s a Northern Water Snake. I grew up near a creek and they are actually pretty common…The biggest I saw was about 5 feet long.

yep, that’s a northern water snake
they’re sort of aggressive, people mistake them for cottonmouths/water moccasins all the time.

freaked me out as it was going upriver and not down river, stupid niagara doesn’t know which way to flow…
was a decent sized snake though heh

I went for a hike with a couple friends bout an hour and a half in, so i was only round taking pics for a little, and didn’t take as many as i’d like to…oh well
