I’ll be coming to the track on street pads and swapping out to something at least as aggressive as Hawk HP+. That way, even if I cook my “track” pads, I’ll have the street pads to get me home.
Now, if I crack a rotor…😃

good idea. ive never been to an autox and i never know where to start to sign up for one haha. nor do i really know anyone that goes so im scared to go alone and be a huge noob haha

Now you know me. My name is Zong. You’ll find that everyone will be very easy to approach and will be more than happy to offer you help (except for that redheaded timing truck guy named Jim, he’ll probably bite your head off 😉 )

Register there. You’ll need a username and password. Register under Novice AS, unless you are running a AP map that +'s your boost, then you are in Novice Street Mod.
There is an event this Sunday at Erie Community College North campus. If you can race Sunday, I’d recommend showing up by 8:15. Park next to the Subaru’s and I can show you where to register/tech and walk the course.
In all honesty, it’s too fun not to go. Don’t be worried about never doing it before. You’ll be addicted in no time.
almost forgot - fill all 4 of your tires to ~42 psi.

You don’t need to know anybody. Just show up and ask the closet person there what to do - anyone will help you out. When all else fails, just come up to the timing truck (you can’t miss it, big yellow truck in the middle of the course) and talk to me. And no, I won’t bite your head off…

Seriously there are plenty of subie guys out there. If you rock a subaru and aren’t a dick you’ll blend right in. Especially if it’s blue. :tup:

Just got back from a session there - this is the most fun you can have with your car period. :tup: 🙂
I’ll post pics tomorrow and I need to review my tape.
And FYI: the day is FILLED. If anyone is selling their spots, you NEED to let me know as well so I know to swap names on the list.

Full track.
Here are some pics. We showed up and hour and a half late since we were working on Bing’s car, and still got more seat time than multiple Auto-X’s combined! I didn’t have the opertunity to take pics of the actual course for you guys, but I have one more track day here before ours.
Rick’s head:
Here you can see how each corner has a turn sign that shows you what’s ahead and countdown numbers as you approach them. Cones are also placed out there to help you find your line.
Imported, right-hand-drive, 2+2 TwinTurbo! Soooooo hot!
Sasha’s S14. Same one he’s had for years now - and for a drifter, that’s quite good!

OK, here is a quick vid. Sorry it’s so large, I’m still working on how to get this HDV smaller, but in the process I’ve made the quality less than HD worthy… oh well, it works for now.
I’ve added a course map to the top of the screen so you can follow where I am on the track. This was also one of my early runs since the camera mount gave way towards the end and only shot my dashboard :tdown:
Rick is my passenger coaching me along. The clip shows one full lap, and the fastest speed I reached was about 100mph :tup:

Bah, clip doesnt play for me, I get audio but the video is all sorts of choppy.
